Community

Project learning is authentic and relevant when it connects to the larger community learning ecosystem, moving beyond school walls.

We help professional educators and community partners learn how to identify, connect, and work together during project design and implementation to ensure authenticity and relevancy come to life. This partnership builds vital networks for students and creates equitable learning opportunities.

Community Support Mapping

Teachers are not alone; mapping the resources available in your community is vital to making authentic and relevant curricular connections.

Project ARC offers workshops that help teachers and community partners, when available, map local resources. We also coach your teams to get the most out of those resources.

We also map your community resources in an easy-to-use reference guide of partners and how they connect to your curriculum.

APLE-a-Day: Community Partners Workshop

A community support map is a great starting point when thinking about your APLE design. However, we know learners need more than guest speakers who serve as talking heads. We also know that your teachers may need coaching on how to work with community partners in a way that helps those partners collaborate with learners.

Teachers may also need support to use various technology platforms to connect learners with community partners. This one-day workshop does it all!

“The future of project-based learning lies in authentic, relevant projects that empower students and teachers to have a measurable positive impact on their communities. That path to next-generation PBL has been pioneered by Dayna Laur and Tim Kubik of Project ARC. Hats off to these leaders.”
